The Renault Zoe is going to be an electric supermini (subcompact car). The car was announced at the 2010 Paris Motor Show. The car will make production in late-2012. The car is going to have a futuristic design, as in the Renault Twizy microcar.
The car will have an electric motor of 75 bhp (59 kW, 80 PS), a reduced top speed of 84 mph (135 km/h), but still with a 100-mile (160 km) driving range. It was suggested that the car will cost €15,000 (£13,000 in the UK).
At the moment, Renault would need to get the batteries from Nissan and NEC (Nippon Electric Company) of Japan, as well as LG Chem of South Korea. A Renault battery plant will be built in 2012, with the Renault-branded being first produced in 2014 or 2015.
