It is the Citroën that has already been sold in the Chinese market since 2002. Itself based on the Citroën ZX which has been in production in Europe from 1991 to 1998, when it was replaced by the Citroën Xsara, which was introduced in 1997 and continued until 2006, when it was replaced by the C4 introduced in 2004.

China is home to cheap, copy-cat, worse, unsafe and unwanted junk cars. One of China’s best-known cars is the Cherry QQ3 (Cherry QQ or IQ outside China).

The previous model of 2002 (based on the ZX) was built by Dongfeng, a major Chinese car manufacturer and it is not car that European’s or anybody living outside China would want to buy. Not one of my favourite cars. The car tends get’s its grill from the Citroën Xantia  saloon/sedan  produced from 1993 to 2001, when it was replaced by the Citroën C5.

However the new C-Elysée will measure 4.43 metres and will now suit European tastes and will also be available in that market but it will not be sold in the UK, unlike the previous Chinese model of 2002 which was only sold in China and only suited Chinese tastes. It will based on the upcoming Peugeot 301 and will now be built in Vigo, Spain.

The car will have a 1.2 litre VTi petrol/gasoline engine with 72 metric horsepower (PS), a 1.6 litre HDi diesel engine with 92 PS. While the most powerful is the 1.6 litre VTi petrol/gasoline engine with 115 PS.
